THE PRODUCT

GameDay is an e-commerce mobile app that allows users to follow their favorite sports teams and purchase featured sports apparel and gear based on what their teams’ players are wearing and using on game day.

 

CONTEXT & CHALLENGE

GameDay aims to be a unique e-commerce experience for sports enthusiasts, allowing them to receive real-time sports apparel and gear specials based on when their favorite teams were playing and what their players were wearing and using on game day.

My client asked me to create a mobile application that would allow sports enthusiasts to follow their favorite teams and receive updates and offers via the app.


GETTING STARTED

GameDay User Research

PERSONAS & USER FLOWS

I created personas formed around the two initial use cases: a new user going through on-boarding and an existing user browsing products and making a purchase. Next, I established their use case scenarios and user flows.


IDEATION & ITERATION

I began quick sketches to generate ideas of how the layout of the app would look. From these sketches, I started testing with users and increasing fidelity. My client also requested a back-end user flow, which I created at this time.

Focused on three scenarios:

1. New user going through on-boarding and selecting their favorite teams to follow.

2. Back-end user uploading available products to the app for purchase.

3. Existing user viewing a product and going through a purchase process.


SOLUTION

I created three user flows based on the scenarios described above. The screens gave a detailed glimpse into functionality of this e-commerce app, while also showcasing the visual design, content and user interaction of the product.
